TMK IPSCO is a global manufacturing leader of seamless tubing and casing, drill pipe, line pipe, coupling stock, premium connections and oilfield accessories. Due to our GROWTH and EXPANSION, we are currently seeking a Manager, Technical Sales – Tubular Products for our Houston, TX location.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for directing TMK IPSCO’s Tubular’s Technical Sales efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work with the Technical Services and Sales & Marketing teams to achieve acceptance of TMK and TMK IPSCO products at all end users
· Direct TMK IPSCO’s Technical Sales activities to ensure commercialization of new and existing products
· Conduct analysis of target customers and determine their technical needs
· Work closely with the Technical Services to ensure timely processing of the product development trials
· Consult on technical aspect of vendor selection relative to new facilities and/or tubular supply chain
· Assist in the development of product brochures and technical bulletins as requested by Commercial
· Develop and conduct technical training seminars for target customers
· Develop working relationships with end user Engineering groups
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Requires a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline; an advanced degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable
· Must possess 10 years of total experience in the tubular product field with at least 5 years experience in tubular product development and manufacturing and at least 3 years of technical sales experience
· Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly preferred
· General knowledge of ferrous physical metallurgy and mechanical properties
· Broad general knowledge of tubular applications and production methods
· Strong analytical capabilities
· Strong leadership, organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
· Previous technical writing experience
