Our client, which is a leading provider of Commercial Vehicle equipment, has retained us to fill an Account Manager position that will be based in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL. The position will be responsible for interfacing daily with other Company departments and external Suppliers. The Account Manager will maintain and grow their customer base as well as foster new relationships in a designated sales territory in Northern Illinois. They will also serve their customers by identifying their needs to include: engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and detailed explanation of services provided. POSITION FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify prospects, develop current and future customer relationships, evaluate needs; make recommendations using proper application principals, make effective sales presentations and close sales.
Manage the sales territory with emphasis on developing new customer accounts meeting requirements set by the department.
Analyze the market, competitive situations and implement a sales strategy consistent with the department’s long-range sales objectives.
Establishes new accounts and services accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing external sales call schedule.
Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
Determine improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, suppliers, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or vendor services.
Achieve annual forecasted sales and account goals set forth by Company management.
Contributes to sales profitability by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
Maintain a high degree of sales professionalism through study and attendance at Company and other educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Work with others to prepare all paperwork necessary to fulfill the sale, including maintaining an active relationship between Company and the customer to ensure customer acceptance of the products sold and to assist in collection of amounts due from customer.
Maintain activities, opportunities, accounts, sales funnel and contact information in Company CRM tool.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college; a four-year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
A minimum of at least three years demonstrated previous experience in off-highway commercial vehicle or power generation sales.
Computer proficiency in MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and CRM software.
Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance required.
Must be willing to travel 25-50% in their assigned territory.
Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
