New Business Development Manager

Our client is a multinational corporation in the electronics industry, looking to recruit a New Business Development Manager to work with OEM and Tier1 automotive companies.  They are expanding and growing their automotive business for touch screens, switches, connectors, and camera modules. Candidates with 5-10 years’ experience in automotive sales and project management will be responsible for working with customers and the product department team to identify potential new product opportunities; coordinate projects across cross-functional teams; and ensure the delivery of product from concept to mass production.  Candidates will be expected to manage at least one sales manager in addition to assigned clients and projects.  The focus of this position is to develop new business accounts.  The position will cover Michigan & surrounding states.  Approximately 20-30% travel, including travel to Asian countries will be required.  A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, and some experience in engineering would be beneficial.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Research market and customer requirements to determine the feasibility of business and product application are fitting with what we are orienting.
  • Make concept, design and pricing proposals with product department based on customer’s outline requirements.
  • Working with our engineering departments and project managers to ensure proper product development in the certain time frame.
  • Generate business progress and update reports for the customer and our organization.
  • Be on site at the customer to review their requirements and trouble shoot problems as needed.
  • Identify and create all activities targeted at generating sales for company.
  • Attend company trade shows and events as directed.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others within and outside the organization to achieve results.

  • Bachelor’s degree, Mechanical engineering 
  • 3 to 7 years’ experience in the automotive industry
