Job Scope:  Responsible for all sales results covering the assigned territory.  Will also be responsible for managing the external sales representative network in this region.  Sales results will target revenue generation, profit, and incremental growth.  Sales implementation will support the Business Unit with implementation of strategic plans and objectives.  Major goal will be incremental growth of sales of company’s line of standard dust collectors.
 
Reports To:  VP Sales
 
Primary Role:  To achieve budgeted sales and profitability by building a Best in Class industrial reseller network that will drive sales and share of all products in the company portfolio. 
 
  • Manage sales of proprietary industrial dust collection systems, within the assigned territory at targeted profit margins that meet the customer’s requirements.
  • Manage sales results primarily through a network of sales representatives.
  • The Sales Engineer will direct and support the sales efforts of regional sales representatives and will administer Representative Agreements profitably and professionally.
  • Prepare and submit technical/commercial proposals for company’s line of dust collector products.
  • Sell directly to end users in situations where company does not maintain active sales representation, or the representation is lacking in skill or scheduled availability.
  • Will work in concert with the Applications Managers and Technical Support to ensure that company proprietary systems are properly applied, specified, and installed.
  • Responsible for effective implementation of project specific sales strategy, within the US.
  • Will provide input regarding necessary sales training and skill development for the regional sales representatives.
  • Will participate in a sales commission and incentive plan, administrated through the VP of Engineered Solutions IAT that compliments supporting Corporate and Business Unit objectives.
  • Will participate in product presentations to conferences, trade shows, exhibitions, and high-level customers at the directions of the VP Flange to Flange.
  • Negotiate contracts with customers, representatives, and appropriate entities to maximize company benefits, limit liabilities, and fully support Business
Unit objectives. Resolve all conflicts in a timely, professional and ethical manner.
  • Provides sound market input to Business Unit Management to enable and facilitate new product development, produce enhancement, and strategic entry into new and emerging markets.  Maintain an understanding of the competition and how it impacts company business opportunities.
  • Productively interface with the operations and engineering side of the business and proactively support common objectives.
  • Travel and support sales activities within the appropriate assigned territory as required to meet business objectives and at the direction of the VP Flange to Flange.
  • Provide sales visibility forecasts as directed by top management.
  • Participate in yearly budget planning and manage results throughout the fiscal year.
  • Provide industry reports on upcoming trends in all parts chemical, petrochemical, mining, and minerals industries.
  • Assist Field Services as required to aid in troubleshooting equipment
  • Provide customer support to aftermarket department for increasing parts sales throughout territory.
Job duties, responsibilities and expectations are not limited to these alone, and may vary along with the territory
 
Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-3 year’s sales/sales management experience in the pollution control industry selling air pollution control equipment.
  • Work with energy efficient products, air movement or filtration in a commercial or industrial application is required.
  • Trained in consultative selling techniques, needs analysis, and strategic planning
  • Must have a background working with technical industrial products through distribution channels such as wholesale distributors, dealers, and manufacturers reps.
  • Success selling to direct manufacturing, OEMs and National Accounts is a plus. 
  • Proven success in managing a large territory, acquiring new customers, and developing new business  
  • Self-motivated and drive to succeed. Will work out of corporate office. Travel 60%+
  • Computer skills with Word, Excel, Pivot Tables, Quote Tools, and CRM
