TMK IPSCO is a global manufacturing leader of seamless tubing and casing, drill pipe, line pipe, coupling stock, premium connections and oilfield accessories. Due to our GROWTH and EXPANSION, we are currently seeking Technical Sales Engineers for our Houston, TXlocation. We have opportunities in both Premium Connections and Tubular Products.
The successful candidates will provide Technical Support to the Sales and Marketing department and to the end users, and ensure product acceptance of TMK and TMK IPSCO products at major end users.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the Technical Sales activities to ensure commercialization of new and existing product
- Conduct analysis of target customers and determine their technical needs and recommend TMK IPSCO applications to meet customers needs
- Work closely with the Technical Services to ensure timely processing of the product development trials
- Consult on technical aspect of vendor selection relative to new facilities and/or tubular supply chain
- Assist in the development of product brochures and technical bulletins as requested by Commercial
- Conduct technical training seminars for target customers
- Develop working relationships with end user Engineering groups
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Candidates must possess a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline; an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable
- Requires 1 – 3 years work experience in Technical Sales
- New graduates will be considered dependant upon sales aptitude
- General knowledge of ferrous physical metallurgy and mechanical properties
- Broad general knowledge of tubular applications and production methods
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Strong leadership, organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
- The ability to represent TMK IPSCO’s interests with customers and industry associations
